In January of 2008, an invitation was extended to HTF to join a friend on a “scouting” trip to Honduras.  During this trip, we were to meet a pastor who could potentially need our help with a building project.  He was out of the country, however, and God had other plans.  HTF met Fito & Sol De La O and their talented family with a heart for missions.

This family began to tell us of their passion for the children of their country and their dream of starting a Christian school in the community of San Juan Pueblo to be Christ’s hands extended.  The rest is history!  Three months later, Mercy Christian Academy was built, painted and filled with curriculum/supplies.  67 children blessed the campus on opening day!

Mercy Christian Academy is now thriving with over 280 students, buzzing with laughter and the love of God!  It is the highlight and safe haven of the community.  HTF and donors continue to support this ministry through salary, supplies, student scholarships and various building projects.

Over the years, God has carried us from MCA to the mountains of Zambrano and the La Moskitia coast blessing the people while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Dios es bueno!
